Chronic illness and Autoimmune Disease is hard enough. Communicating your needs with loved ones and doctors can leave you feeling unheard, gaslighted, and deflated.
In order to find Healing, You Need to be BELIEVED. You Need to be SUPPORTED. Step One? Learning how to articulate your feelings to those around you in a way that they can understand.
Describing complex, chronic illness to another person can feel like trying to speak another language. Too often we find ourselves attempting to navigate a siloed medical system, being shuttled between specialists as they try to figure out the best way to help.
To make things worse, we all have family members or co-workers who don’t believe our experience is real. It’s a constant cycle of frustration and communication barriers.
I’ve Been There. I Believe You.
Now, I’d Like to Help.
For the first time, I’m launching a Brand New One-on-One Coaching Program designed specifically to give you the tools you need to communicate effectively with doctors and loved ones, and help guide you to a road that improves your health and the conditions of your environment. Together, we will work to Identify and Create Your Own Personal Path Toward Getting Healthy.
Ready to Find Your Voice?
Doctors are human.
Even with their years of training and experience, chronic illness is what I call “the big, black hole” of medicine. Medical schools don’t teach physicians about root cause; the focus is often on treating symptoms with drugs and strategies that don’t cure.
As such, we end up getting shuttled from one specialist to another, each suggesting that we are experiencing something different, and ultimately getting no help. It’s incredibly stressful and expensive on many levels!
This is where communication becomes key.
Having the words to describe exactly the way you’re feeling and the circumstances behind it will give the doctors the confidence they need to adequately provide you with support.
But it requires looking inward, and connecting with someone who’s been there, to help you build that language and confidence for yourself.

ABOUT DANA PARISH:
Growing up outside Philadelphia, Parish was writing and recording music by age thirteen, and went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music.
Parish’s first single, “Not My Problem”, from her debut album Uncrushed, charted at #23 on Billboard, and she soon became one of the highest-charting independent artists. Parish bested herself, and broke into the Top 10, with the second single from the album, “Let It Go By”. This led to several appearances on major morning and talk shows, including The CBS Morning Show, Good Morning America, and KTLA. Clear Channel selected Parish as their Featured Artist for sixteen weeks in a row.
Celine Dion recorded 2 of Parish’s songs, “Thankful” and “Always Be Your Girl,” for her #1 album, Loved Me Back To Life. Written with her husband, Andrew Hollander, they launched her into the next phase of her music career.
The Parish/ Hollander collaboration “Broken Ones,” performed by Jacquie Lee, The Voice Season 5 finalist, was a chart success. Most recently, Parish has written songs for Idina Menzel, Lea Michele, Carly Rae Jepson and others.
In July 2014, Parish was at a wedding on Long Beach Island, NJ, and came back to NYC with a severe case of Lyme disease that would change the course of her life, and almost steal it. After three weeks of antibiotics that she was told would cure her, she went on to have severe multi-systemic symptoms that resulted, five months later, in heart failure. Parish saw a dozen doctors at top NYC institutions who did not think she had Lyme. Parish landed in the hands of Yale-trained internist, Dr. Steven Phillips, a top expert in treating vector-borne diseases, who ultimately saved her life.
After writing a column for HuffPost about chronic illness, which was read by over a million people, Parish and Phillips went on to co-author the bestselling, “Chronic: The Hidden Cause of the Autoimmune Pandemic and How to Get Healthy Again,” released February 2,2021, published by Harper Collins (formerly, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt).
